About Em

Hi; I'm Em! I am a food, environment, and conceptual photographer located in the mountains of western North Carolina, about 45 minutes west of Asheville. Photography has been a lifelong passion of mine, and I am fortunate to pursue my dreams in a location with endless natural beauty as my studio. Whether I'm working on location or in my home studio, I am drawn in by color, shape, texture, strong lines, negative space, and natural light; I have a very graphic style and love approaching subjects in an editorial way. I am extremely detail oriented, and have been known to use unconventional tools to achieve my vision. I have seldom met a box I couldn't think my way out of! I am also currently part of full spectrum photographic group offering portrait, event, and commercial photography - please check out our site! We are Thomas Artus King Photography, and are excited to work together with you, whether it's to capture the memories of your family you will want to keep for a lifetime and beyond, to provide professional photography for your next media kit, or to showcase your new product. If you are interested in working with us, please feel free to email, call, or simply leave a message at this page. I look forward to hearing from you! He looks so happy and still… but really, how many times did he try to hop away? :)

    • He was actually pretty still for his portrait! I’m sure he was probably terrified of the big black camera I was shoving in his face. Poor thing. Little one finally let him hop along back to some peace after about an hour of being held and followed around the kiddie pool. :)
